What does CIS stand for?
CIS is an abbreviation that stands for Corporate Immigration Services.
Which languages do you speak, and in which languages can you offer services?

What kind of services does CIS provide exactly?
CIS is specialized in organizing, coordinating, and managing immigration procedures for third country nationals (TCNs) working for European employers in Netherlands. Its services include, among other things, submitting residence permit applications in the Netherlands, handling the necessary documentation, and communicating with relevant government authorities. In addition, CIS offers advice and support in the fields of HR, legislation, and process optimization. Through its automated platform, CIS takes the burden off both employers and employees, ensuring international talent can be placed in Netherlands quickly, efficiently, and in full compliance with the law.
What is a third-country national (TCN)?
A third-country national (often abbreviated as TCN) is someone who is not a citizen of an EU member state, the European Economic Area (EEA), or Switzerland. In the context of Dutch immigration law, third-country nationals require a valid residence permit if they plan to stay in the Netherlands for more than 90 days. FAQ About Our Services
What does the application process look like?
At CIS, our application process is designed to be as straightforward and efficient as possible. First, we gather the necessary information and documentation from both the employer and the employee. Next, we verify all details and prepare the required forms and applications. Once ready, we submit these to the relevant government authorities and maintain ongoing communication to track the progress.
How long does the application process take?
The exact duration can vary based on factors such as processing times at the IND, but should in general not take longer than two months. However, due to significant backlogs at the IND and based on our experience, approvals are frequently issued only after two and sometimes three or even four months. Anyhow, throughout this period, our team provides regular updates and remains available to address any questions or concerns that may arise.
What if my employees have been staying in Netherlands for more than 90 days, but no application has been submitted yet?
It’s possible that the duration of your employees’ stay in Netherlands slipped your mind. Under Dutch law, overstaying is not allowed and can lead to fines or complications for both your company and your employees. For instance, your employees could be refused entry when exiting or re-entering Netherlands. If you get in touch with our team, we’ll explain how we can help resolve this situation
What if the application was submitted on time but still hasn’t been approved, while my employees have already been in Netherlands for more than 90 days?
For every application, we schedule an individual appointment at an IND office. During this appointment, your employees receive a temporary residence endorsement in their passports, allowing them to legally stay in Netherlands while the entire process is pending.
Who or what is the IND?
The IND (Immigration and Naturalization Service) is the Dutch government agency responsible for assessing and processing all immigration-related applications in Netherlands, including visas, residence permits, and naturalization requests. They ensure that foreign nationals’ stay in the country complies with Dutch and European regulations.
Which documents and information do I need to provide to get started?
To begin the process with CIS, you generally need to supply basic personal details (e.g., name, date of birth, nationality) and proof of these (such as a copy of your passport or employment contract). Once you reach out to us, we’ll provide a tailored checklist of exactly what’s needed for your specific application.
Do you also assist with extending an existing residence permit?
Because it’s not possible to obtain an indefinite residence title, every issued permit has an expiration date. Don’t worry though, our team can assist in renewing any previously obtained permits. If you need help extending your current residence permit, feel free to contact us for more information.
Can I track the status of my application at any point in the process?
Yes, we strive to keep you fully informed at every stage of the process. We provide regular updates via email. Additionally, our automated platform offers real-time tracking, so you can quickly view the current status and any next steps. Should you have any questions or concerns, our team is always available to assist.
How do you handle confidential information and data privacy?
For detailed information on how we handle confidential information and data privacy, please refer to our Privacy Policy at cis-bv.com/privacy-policy.
How long do you retain my data and documents?
We keep your data only for as long as it’s needed for the services we’re providing and to meet any legal obligations. Once it’s no longer required, we remove it securely. For full details on our retention practices and the measures we take to protect your information, please refer to our Privacy Policy at cis-bv.com/privacy-policy.
What happens if my application gets rejected?
With an approval rate of nearly 100%, rejections are very unlikely when you use our services. In our experience, the most common reason for a rejection is incorrect or incomplete information provided in our portal. If that occurs, the application must be resubmitted. Our team will therefore reach out to you directly if your application will ever be rejected.
Which payment methods do you accept, and what is your payment term?
We accept several payment methods for processing your request. At the moment we accept the following payment methods:
- Bank transfer (SEPA)
- Credit cards
- Apple Pay
- Google Pay
- Trustly
- Satispay
- iDeal
Do you offer expedited procedures, and what are the requirements?
Unfortunately, there is no way to speed up the application process or prioritize it at the IND. We will submit your application as soon as the payment has been received, regardless of the size or urgency of the application. This makes it for you especially important to carefully monitor your employees’ 90-days stay in Netherlands.
What steps can I take myself to speed up the process?
Your biggest advantage lies in preparation. By promptly submitting all required documents and ensuring they’re accurate, you’ll help prevent delays and speed up the approval process. Our automated portal guides you step by step and clearly highlights any missing information. We also recommend responding quickly to any questions from our team. This proactive approach, combined with our expertise, ensures a smooth and efficient experience. If you have any concerns about specific requirements, don’t hesitate to reach out for personalized guidance.
Can family members or dependents be included in the application process?
No. The application is submitted under the rules for international service provision. Therefore we do not handle family relocation or reunification as part of our services at CIS.

What is your cancellation or refund policy?
All payments are final, and we do not offer refunds once the application process has started. If you need to cancel a service, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss your options.
Do you provide support with housing, insurance, or other practical matters?
